Put in Bay, Ohio, is located on the most populated of the Lake Erie Islands, South Bass Island. Every year almost half a million people visit the island - nicknamed the "Key West of the North". Getting to Put in Bay on South Bass Island is half the fun! The island is on Lake Erie, approximately 4.5 miles from Catawba Island and Port Clinton, Ohio (depending on which ferry you take). The Lake Erie island area is a scenic and beautiful section of the greater Lake Erie basin. Fishing, kayaking, jet skiing, sailing, and island-hopping regular seasonal activities in the summer, while ice fishing is definitely the top selection for our few winter time visitors.
